Pamela (Pam) Nowak grew up loving books and writing. A native of Minnesota,
she possesses a B.A. in history and now lives in the Rocky Mountain area.
Her career has included teaching at a variety of levels, historic
preservation, and social services administration. She is an award-winning
author and served as an intern with Entangled Publishing prior to accepting
a role as editor with Literary Wanderlust. Pam has a passion for the
American West and those who lived there, relationships, and the interweaving
of fact and fiction.
With her love of history, Pam prefers submissions set in the past. She
accepts Historical & Western Fiction, Romance (historical) & Women’s
Historical Fiction; and Narrative Non-Fiction. She enjoys complicated
protagonists and likes braided narratives stories as well as more
traditional story formats. In romance, she’s intrigued by characters that
vary from the expected stereotypes of the genre. Submissions should be clean
and well-crafted. Pam’s most common reasons for rejecting manuscripts
include a lack of character motivation, too much reliance on coincidence,
and a lack of character-driven plotting.
