Chiara & Maris Karys C. M. Karys is the author name of two Italian sisters, Maria Elena and Chiara. Their love of reading and writing started in reading classes with their American teachers in elementary school. As young girls, their love of fantasy was fueled by obsessive Disney marathons and Harry Potter. Now they have added Game of Thrones to that list. When they are not hunched over a notebook jotting down ideas for stories or hiding away in their writing cave surrounded by faeries and dragons, they can be found on Instagram discussing books with their online community. Maria Elena has a B.A. in languages, literatures, and cultures of Europe and the Americas, while Chiara is a student at the University of Naples “L’Orientale.” They currently live in Naples with their family and their dog queen, Kiche.
